Speak Up and Hear my Voice Training

Show Me That I Matter run and organise training sessions led by young people.

The aim of the training sessions is for professionals that work with young people to gain insight and understanding of some of the issues and feelings children and young people in care experience. The face to face active and informative training delivered by young people can be a real thought provoking day, the end game being the realisation that even the smallest changes to the way we work on a day to day basis can really impact the life’s, challenges and outcomes of children and young people in care.

The training sessions can be delivered in a variety of ways and can be tailored to, social workers, other children’s service workers, schools, foster carers and more.

The kinds of training available can be worked around the needs of the organisation requesting the training. The standard types are below:

  • One full days training approx 7h – includes full content of training courses and participation activities
  • A half day’s training – includes selected activity and tailored content.
  • One ½ - two hour training slot – Covers an overview of the course and impacts and outcomes of how we work with children and young people in care.

We can also help a organisation to train there own team of young trainers. Please get in contact if you have any queries, or if you would be interested in booking onto any of our courses.
