The team is split across the city covering the North, East and West of York. The Healthy Child Service incorporates York's Health Visiting Service and School Nurse Service and works with families, young people and children up to the age of 19. Across York, we have 3 Healthy Child Service Teams. You can find out more about the teams and the services they offer by selecting from the below options.

About the Midwifery Service

Midwives are specially trained to care for Mothers and babies, throughout pregnancy, labour and after the birth. Midwives work both in hospitals and in the community so that the same midwife can provide antenatal care and be there at the birth. The Midwife responsible for your care will be documented in your pregnancy notes. After the birth, you will be cared for by your Midwife and a Maternity Support Worker.
