Speak Up blue for website

Speak Up is the name of York's Children's Rights and Advocacy Service.

It is here to help you understand your rights, and to provide you with help and support on anything and everything to do with being in care. Speak Up like to know your opinion on Children's Services, on being in care and on what you'd like to happen in your life.

Speak Up provides advocacy support to children and young people.

If you would like to contact Speak Up to find out more about our service and how we can help you, please contact us on 07769 725174 or speakup@york.gov.uk

Why have a Speak Up Service?

Because you need to know that what you think and what you say matters. All children and young people have the right to have their views listened to and respected, especially when decisions are being made about their life. We think this is really important.

Speak Up is independent, which means we are separate from Children's Services (the social work teams). It's important that we're separate so we can represent the views of young people.

We have a Service Statement that explains the support we provide and how we work
